About Me

My name is Ms. Samayoa and I have been teaching at Dominguez HS for5 years now.  I am married, but have not officially started using my married name at Dominguez, which is Juarez.  I teach Library Science which is a course that teaches students how to use the library, digital citizenship, CST library science prep, and how to work in the library setting.

I attend California State University Long Beach where I am getting my masters in educational technology.  I am have learned how to design courses online, how to make interactive games, and learned about the foundations of educational technology.  The two classes that took were interesting and difficult.  Interesting because they made me think about the way I teach with technology and difficult because they were a lot of work in addition to my busy schedule.

I hold an associates degree in general studies from Cypress College.   A bachelors degree in liberal studies from CSULB.  A multiple subject teaching credential and library credential from CSULB.  And, I am in the process of my masters degree in educational technology with an emphasis in librarianship.  With all of the degrees, I have taught at an elementary school as a classroom teacher in grades K-5.  I have also been an elementary school teacher-librarian and a high school teacher-librarian.

I want to travel to different countries when my kids get older.  So far, I have been to the country of Mexico to vacation at my grandparent's home.  I really want to travel to France because I took 4 years of french in high school.  I also want to travel to Jerusalem to see where Jesus walked amongst the people.

I currently live in Long Beach with my husband and 4 kids.
