The Math Department at Dominguez includes the following teachers: Mr. Iroekwe, Mr. Kim, Ms. Kirk, Ms. Kobylecki, Mr. Kreutz, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Qayyum, Ms. Vargas, and Ms. Varnado.
The core classes offered at Dominguez include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre Calculus. There are intervention classes offered for CAHSEE review and there are advanced classes (Honors) in Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II. The advanced placement college level courses are A.P. Calculus and A.P. Statistics.
The Math Department has a mission of teaching the students basic skills as well as advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills. In the core classes the state standards are emphasized and taught daily as well as review for the CAHSEE exam which the students take for the first time in 10thgrade. It is the goal of the department to have each child proficient and advanced in their math computational skills as well as their problem solving and communication skills. Therefore each lesson taught in each class daily will include remediation and review as well as new material and concepts. The math department is dedicated to its students and their success in high school and beyond.
